duplicate accounts

my husband has/had a free wordpress.com account he wanted to upgrade to a premium account so not realizing that he had started making a new account I went on his old account and upgraded it thinking I could just make the changes he wanted to the existing account. The problem no is we have the domain name we wanted but it’s attached to the old account and he would like it attached to the new account. What can we do to clear up this problem
