Duplicated Project Content

On my blog posts when I link to my project gallery (specific example I’m thinking of is my article on the Bolsey Jubilee camera, the project page shows the gallery images all individually and then underneath everything has them displayed correctly (and how I have it set up in settings) as the 3 column view. How do I remove the first section of single column duplicate images as they don’t appear in my editor?

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

When I view any of your posts, I can’t see any duplicate images in the gallery. Can you please grab a screenshot of what you’re seeing and upload it to your Media Library so I can have a look? Here’s how to take a screenshot:

I’ve uploaded the screenshots. The trouble isn’t with a typical gallery, it’s with the Project format. I have a link above my image gallery in the blog post that says be sure to check out [this link] for more, and the link takes you to the Project which is just supposed to be a dedicated gallery for that camera instead of the few sample images on the blog post. The Project is where it starts as single-column images and then repeats as multi-column images under the title.

  • Thank you for the screenshots. I now can see the issue.

This is happening because the theme you’re using was released in 2015. Unfortunately, it’s pretty old and not fully compatible with the block editor. So, when you insert the Gallery block in a project, it creates this duplication issue.

My recommendation is to switch to a newer theme that’s fully compatible with blocks.

All the themes at the top of https://wordpress.com/themes/ are brand new themes.

If you have any other questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help.
