duplicating a website

  I’m creating a second website and I’d like it to be a version of my first one, but WP is formatting it like a blog. Is there a way to copy my first site to my new url and edit it from there?

  Hi –

  There are plugins that allow you to copy a site in that manner. In order to use plugins on our managed hosting from WordPress.com our business plan is required. That gives the site the needed infrastructure to use plugins.

  I’m not convinced that you need that though. Can you share the old site URL? We can tell you which theme is in use there as a starting point.

  Any of our themes can be formatted as a website or a blog, or both. You’ll want to assign a front page instead of having posts displayed there.

  Thank you so much! I was able to work out the issue after deleting some stray plug-ins that were causing the new site to bug. Now I’m set without having to copy the old site as a template.
