  Earthlink is our web host. How does my new WordPress.com account interact with Earthling hosting?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. Our support docs do not apply to
  (1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
  (2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM.

  Also, note that we do not provide Jetpack support https://jetpack.me/support/ for sites linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page.

  WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums.   As you are referring to a site that is not hosted here, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

  Thanks timethief! This is very helpful to fill in the back story of org vs com.

  I still have confusion, tho, about this: I want to purchase a WP.com Premium Theme and i know I need to purchase a WP.com Premium subscription. When i do, what is it that WP.com is providing with that subscription and what is Earthlink providing (re hosting my WP.com website).

  Also, we have a domain with Earthlink we’d like to use. Don’t i have to map that with WP.com? I can’t find how to do that?
