Easy way to revert to (discontinued) Expound theme

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello! When the font in my blog started rendering poorly in the Expound theme, I discovered that the theme had been discontinued. So I changed the theme to Twenty Sixteen. The problem with Twenty Sixteen is that the About page isn’t clickable from the home page. Anyone know of a quick way to revert to a discontinued theme? Thanks!

  • Hi there,

You can always re-enable any free theme you had on your site before it was retired from the theme showcase in WP-Admin. Add /wp-admin to the end of your site address, and search for the theme at Appearance ->Themes.

The problem with Twenty Sixteen is that the About page isn’t clickable from the home page.

Not sure what you mean here. A theme has absolutely no effect on whether or not certain links on a site can be clicked. More likely you have a dead link added somewhere – text that looks and acts like a link, but that isn’t actually linking to anything.

If you can give a link to your site, we can take a look for you.

Thank you so much, Kokkieh! Your first suggestion worked and I was able to revert to the Expound theme. I’ll need to customize with a more read-friendly font, but that’s some tinkering for me to do on my end.

thiagustales.wordpress.com is the site. Reverting to the Expound theme brought “About” back to the top of the home page, which is what I was looking to do. Thanks for your suggestions. Super helpful!

  • Excellent! Thanks for letting me know.
