Edit Page Doesn't Load

I’m using a template, not a WordPress theme. I’m trying to edit quite a few things on the site. When I click on ‘pages’ in the left hand menu, then ‘homepage’ the loading icon pops up and continues to spin for much longer than functional (+5 minutes). I’d also like to know where I can chat with a tech to get support as my questions are too basic and many for a forum format. Thanks!

I’m using a template, not a WordPress theme.
Are you referring to the site https://lucidproductiongroup.wordpress.com/. This site has the Harmonic theme activated, which is in fact a WordPress.com theme.
When I click on ‘pages’ in the left hand menu, then ‘homepage’ the loading icon pops up and continues to spin for much longer than functional (+5 minutes).
Loading issues are typically browser-related, though if you’re accessing pages from My Sites rather than from the wp-admin dashboard this might be part of the problem. I almost always stay in the wp-admin pages when working on my sites. As a test, I just tried to access a couple of pages via My Sites. It took much longer for them to open, and one page which has a lot of content, including text, images, and videos, displayed as empty.

Questions can not be too basic for the WordPress.com support forum. This is where to begin. If you describe an issue, or ask a question, which stumps a volunteer responder here, she or he might call for staff attention.

Thanks for your response. I didn’t see “Harmonic” in the Themes section, but everything on WordPress seems to be counter intuitive so maybe I’m looking in the wrong place.
The theme that seems to be selected is the template labeled “Patti Child”.
It looked like the “browser issues” page was suggesting I update to the latest versions, that’s been done. But I haven’t tried some of their other suggestions yet.
I’d contacted a tech, but I couldn’t afford to pay him. He thought this was a problem with updating WordPress. Again, another ship that left without me, it’s far from being a normal installation, but I found directions online so I’m going to try that out.

This theme is not available for WordPress.com sites. What is the address (URL) of the website to which you are referring?

That’s just par for the course. WordPress needs to educate themselves on intuitive workflows. It’s almost as if they’re trying to confuse people.
