Editing Categories – not working

  Hello, I am trying to edit a category from “home” to “home decor”and it says, “The slug “home-decor” is already in use by another term”, BUT its not being used. (I think I used home decor a long time ago, and deleted it). How can I get “home decor” as a category again? Thanks! Allison

  Categories and Tags share the same slugs, and you currently have a Home Decor tag.

  You would need to delete that in order to free the home-decor slug.

  Delete the home decor tag? If I do that, then all the posts that have home decor as a tag will no longer have that, right?

  I deleted the home decor tag, and it still wont let me add “home decor” as a category. It says that its already in use.

  Hm, I’m not sure why it wasn’t working for you, but I was able to add it for you now.
