Editing code in worpress-hosted site

  Hi, I need to add some plugins or widgets to my wordpress, but I’m now being able to do it from the administrator panel, like I used to with other wordpress blogs. Is it because I’m hosting with wordpress that I cant search for new widgets? Or does it have to do with the theme I choosed? I would also like to edit the code (php, css, etc), but since I don’t have FTP acces, I can’t seem to figure out how to get to it, could you please point me out in the right direction?

  You can’t add plugins to a WordPress.com blog. As for widgets, what do you want?
