  Can you update HTML with a wordpress.com free site like Amazon Banner Ads, Google Analytics, etc.? I can’t figure out how to do this. I keep getting errors around how this HTML isn’t supported like <script

  No you can’t. Google Analytics support on WordPress.com is available as a feature of the WordPress.com Business plan, https://en.support.wordpress.com/google-analytics/
