editing single blog post layouts
-
I have the Circa theme installed at the moment and I am wondering how or if I can change the layout for each of my blog posts. E.g. one of my posts I would like aligned to the right and the other to the left. It seems as if I can only have them both aligned to the left or right etc rather than individually. Is there a way I can change this? I really don’t like the look of them all being aligned the same. My homepage is static.

Hi there,
Of what site are you speaking?
And do you mean you want the alternating alignment on the posts page that lists all your posts? If so, that might be possible using custom CSS, but the code to do that will likely fall on the complex end of the spectrum so you’d need to hire a developer to help you with that, besides which it would require our Premium Plan to use custom CSS.
Or are you speaking of individual posts? We’ll be better able to answer you if you can provide more specific details on what you’re trying to do here.

Hi there,
I mean individual posts. I notice when I go to the ‘My Home’ section of my site and then onto ‘Edit Homepage’, it gives me the option to edit the alignment of my posts (show media on the left, right etc.), but it only lets me do it for all posts as opposed to individually but I don’t want them to all have the same alignment. I’m not sure if it’s a case of having to use custom CSS just to do that.

Are you speaking of https://adultingwithaaliyah.wordpress.com/?
Your front page on that site displays your posts using the Blog Posts block. It’s that block that allows you change the alignment, and it applies that setting to all posts displayed in the block, yes. That block doesn’t have an option to apply alternating alignment to alternating posts.
You might like your theme’s posts page better:
https://circademo.wordpress.com/
It varies how posts are displayed based on the post format, content, images, etc.
To use that, don’t use a static front page with the blog posts block like you have now, but instead set the posts page as the front page. You’ll set the posts page as the front page at My Site ->Design ->Customize ->Homepage settings
