Editing 'status'

  I cannot edit / update the ‘status’ at the top of my blog page. When I click status the normal ‘box’ opens, the Edit keyword is there, but status is archived and no link appears for edit when clicked. I have not made any changes. Edit function works for all other posts. Have searched forums and online help to no avail.
