Editing text
-
Howdy. I have a free wordpress.com site, and am trying to edit text which I created earlier for a page. When I go to Block Editor, I do not see any text, just the headline and the first photograph. It appears I may need a plug-in to actually edit text, and this is only available when/if I upgrade to the Business Plan? So, my question is, can I edit text on my pages using the free plan, and if so, how? I’m not allowed to download the Classic Editor plug-in with the free plan, if I understand correctly, Thanks! The page I am currently working on is ‘About Paramount Hobbies.’ Rob

Hi there,
It is still possible to use to the classic editor when writing/editing posts/pages in your site’s Dashboard, but to do so you will need to follow the steps here as it is no longer the default editor for WordPress.com sites.
We also recommend the classic block, which is a block you can add to “insert” the classic editor inside of the newer block editor, and has the familiar formatting tools you are used to: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/classic-block/
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
