editing the address of my site – with the new address the site cannot be found

I wanted to change my previous address into a new address. I thought I did so successfully, but, I noticed the site cannot be found anymore at all. So now, when signed in, there seem to be two sites, with different addresses, and one only (the original) has content. How can I have my one original site visible, with the content and all under the new address? Thanks!

2) https://wordpress.com/posts/elinanissinenart.wordpress.com– So when I’m signed in I can see the content on the first site that has the new URL 1), as planned. Anyway, for some reason, the site is not public / cannot be found.
– The second site has the old address URL 2) and it is empty of content.I just want the new URL 1) to work and be visible with the content.

Hi @elinan2015, it looks like the original site was elinanissinenart.wordpress.com , then you moved the content to nissinenelina.wordpress.com with the name change tool. You kept elinanissinenart.wordpress.com , but it’s currently empty because everything was moved to the new address. That’s what our records show anyway.. does that sound right to you?

Yea that’s pretty much the case – to be honest, I do not remember exactly what tool did I use to do this. My intention was just to alter the URL of my website: I wanted to change elinanissinenart.wordpress.com into nissinenelina.wordpress.com .
Right now my site can be found by typing the new, exact address in the browser’s search box. Anyway, when trying to find the site by googling it, only the old address aka the now empty old site ( elinanissinenart.wordpress.com ) pops up.
Can I edit something to make the new address easier to find with google? -
@elinan2015 ahhh, I understand. If you want to redirect links from the old URL to the new one, we do have an upgrade for that. It’s $13/year. Since it “tells” Google and other search engines to update their links, you might not need it for longer than that.
You can get that here:
https://wordpress.com/domains/add/site-redirect/elinanissinenart.wordpress.comYou want to add it to the old site, and then specify the new site when it asks you where to redirect. I hope that helps!
