edits are not updating

edits are not updating. updates show up on text page, but not visual page in editing mode. updates do not show up on page.
additionally, the gravatar has reverted to default. this has been going on for over three days.

Please provide URLs for the edited posts or Pages that did not update. If the post was created on the dashboard of your own blog at Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New then you ought to be able to recover a lost post or page from revisions if needs be.

Actually, there is a problem with the code.
When you use the link button from the text side, it “writes” the wrong code. When you use the chain icon button from the visual side, it does it correctly.Now, can you help me with the gravatar image?

Can you let me know the name of the post or page that you are editing? You can also copy and paste the link to that post or page directly from your browser’s address bar. (The link you posted earlier didn’t work for me, and I want to make sure I’m looking in the right place.)

Can you describe the steps you take to add a link from the text editor and what code you end up with? That information will help me troubleshoot the issue you’re seeing in the text editor. :)

I fixed the issue with the Gravatar in your site’s header. Sorry about that! If it doesn’t look right to you, you may need to refresh your browser or clear your browser’s cache.

I go to dashboard. Then pages, then edit, then from the ” text” tab of the edit page, I hit the link button. I copy and paste the URL of the link after deleting “http//:” which becomes redundant if you leave it. I then type the name of the link in the lower bar, as directed. The code written is wrong, in that it says, {….”title=name of link”><a/>}. And results in no display of the info on the “visual” tab or the actual page. I then rewrite the code to say, {….”>name of link< a/>}. This results in the link properly displayed in all three areas. (I might have the EXACT notation incorrect, so please follow the gist of what I am saying. I am not a programmer.)

Thanks for explaining those steps; it really helps, and I understand what you mean. There’s just one step that’s missing for the link button to work properly.
Before you click on “link” in the Text editor, you’ll need to highlight the text you want to turn into a link. That way, the link code will be wrapped around that text (turning it into a link). So in your example, you’ll need to highlight the text “name of link” and then click on the link button.

Highlighting text is the same selecting text, which you can do on an iPad by pressing and holding over the text you want to select. You can find some additional tips for that here:
