    I am told that Elementor is free. But when I click on it to install the plug in, it costs. Why?

    Elementor is a free plugin that is designed to work with WordPress. However, we’re a managed hosting platform here on WordPress.com, so while we do offer the ability to upload plugins, it’s not an option on free sites… to do that you will need our WordPress.com Business Plan.     However, if cost is an issue you can instead set up a self-hosted WordPress site, which are sites that you create on a “traditional web host” like Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc. That kind of WordPress site uses the free open source WordPress software, so the only cost would be for hosting and domain fees.
