Elementor HTML widget keeps reverting after I edit and publish

  Hi everyone,

  I’m editing an HTML widget in Elementor on a WordPress site.

  The widget contains custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I need to remove some values from the code, and I can edit the code in the widget just fine. But when I click Publish, the old code comes back. My changes do not stick.

  This is happening specifically inside the HTML widget code editor.

  What I’m trying to understand:

  • Why would code inside an Elementor HTML widget revert after publishing?
  • Could the widget content be pulled from another source and overwritten?
  • Is there any Elementor setting or behavior that causes an HTML widget to restore old code automatically?
  • How can I identify the actual source controlling the HTML widget content?

  In my case, the issue is not about styling or layout. It is specifically that the HTML widget code itself will not save the edited version, and keeps reverting to the previous code.

  Has anyone seen this before?
