I’d like to renew my Elizabeth Bishop Society site at elizabethbishopsociety.org for $18, which is the same as previous annual renewals. The credit information is the same. Please email me at (email visible only to moderators and staff) to confirm. Thanks! Angus
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
If you want to keep a domain, never let it expire. The expiration process of a domain is long and complicated, and you can incur an additional late renewal fee ($80) or lose the domain entirely if you allow it to expire.
You can avoid losing a domain by ensuring that it is set to auto renew. Visit Purchases, click the domain, and check the auto renew status.
If you see “SUBSCRIPTION EXPIRES ON” your domain is not set to renew automatically. You can enable Auto Renew by clicking Add Payment Method and saving your payment information.
I’ve also added the modlook tag so the staff can go ahead and do this for you.
Hope this helps!

Hi there,
To renew that domain you need to be logged in as the username who owns it, zammin. It is no longer possible to renew a domain that you don’t own.
@assadaboultaif
Please don’t assume a domain is expired. This domain does not expire until July and is not in redemption, both things you’ll see if you do a whois lookup.

Hi, I am having difficulty renewing the above domain because the so-called owner is zammin — this was a student intern of mine who designed the site many years ago. He has nothing to do with it now, so I’d like to re-subscribe since I have run the site (domain) for 7 years. Can I call someone with a credit card? Or, can you change me to the owner so I can have the option to select Auto Renew? Any renewal method is fine as long as I can do it. Thanks, Angus

zammin is not the “so-called owner”. That is the username who bought the domain, so they are the owner, period. It doesn’t matter if they’re no longer involved with the site, nor how long you’ve been running the site. They own the domain, and only they have the ability to renew the domain or to transfer it to someone else.
ICANN regulations regarding domain ownership changed late last year and are now much more strict, so we cannot make exceptions in this regard. I mean that literally – the button to transfer the domain to you doesn’t exist. It only exists for the person logged in as the username zammin.
Please try to contact that person so they can transfer the domain to you. Or if you have receipts for the original payments made for the domain you might be able to use the transaction IDs in those to gain access to the account via the account recovery form:
Note that the transaction IDs for payments made by your username cannot be used to gain access to the zammin account.

Hi, A website I’ve been running for 6 or 7 years is set to expire in early July. I have renewed it every year but this year I am told that the original owner of the domain must renew it. The domain owner was a student whom I have lost contact with, so I cannot get him to renew or transfer it. Is there someone at WordPress I can call to pay and renew it as I’ve done for the past 6 years? If not, please advise on what to do. If this renewal is impossible, might it make sense to let it expire and then re-start it under my name? Thanks for any advice you may be able to offer. Angus

The username, zammin, transferred the domain to your account on the 16th, four days ago, and you updated the domain contact information AFTER the transfer took place. So your latest reply makes no sense.
You are now the owner of the domain and can renew it from the Purchases page – you’ve had this ability since Friday when the domain was transferred:

Note that as your account has never owned a domain before, you may be required to purchase a plan before you can renew the domain. In that case, please go to My Site ->Plans and select a plan. That will automatically renew the domain and link it with the plan.
