email address change

  I want to change my email address to the most current and I get a warning that the email is in use.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi,

  That would be the response if the email address is associated with another account. Do you have multiple WordPress.com accounts? Each email address can only be used on a single account, though there may be many sites within the account.

  I had one but have deleted the site.

  But WordPress.com accounts are not deleted, and the email address is probably still associated with the account.

  The Issues Changing Your Email Address section of the Update Email Address support page deals with this issue, and provides the following solution:

  The solution is also easy. You can use a different email address that is not already in use, or you can log in to the account currently using your desired email address and change it to something else. Once changed, you can then reuse the email on a different account.

  Ahh… I just remembered. It might be from an internship that I had last year where I posted to a website as part of my job. We used the wordpress platform to access that. Thanks for your help.
