Email address change

  Hi,

  I am trying to change my email on my profile.
  It sends me a confirmation link to the new email address, but when I click it, it sends the link to logging on my old address.

  I tried several times and I’m now confused.

  Note: The new email I am trying to use is not associated with another WordPress.com account.

  What is the email address you’re trying to use?

  If you write it here like a normal email address, it will be hidden from everyone but staff.

  Please check your new email address for the confirmation message.

  The emails you’re receiving at your current address (login link)are for logging you into your WordPress.com account.

  Hey,

  I have been checking the new email address. I do receive the link to change it
  (( If this is correct, please click on the following link to change it:

  But that link takes me to the logging page. When I try to logging with my new email, it says “user does not exist”.

  When I put in my username, it sends a logging link to my old email.

  I don’t think I’m doing anything wrong or missing a step?

  Hi there,

  That’s the correct link, yes.

  Make sure you’re already logged into your account when you click that link. Or if you get taken to the login page regardless, you need to log in using your username or the current/old email address.

  You’ll only be able to log in using the new email address once you’ve completed the verification process. Until then, the old email is still the one attached to the account.

  P.S. that link can be used by someone else to claim ownership of you account, so I’m removing it from your reply above.

  THANK YOU!!!

  I did it on my phone and it worked – yayy! I think it was because I was working on two different chrome windows on my laptop.

  Ah, yes, if you were in different Chrome windows that would explain it.

  I can confirm the new address now shows for you account in our system.
