Email address wrong

I forgot the password to my WP account, so I had to make another account. I noticed that the email address has a typo- (email visible only to moderators and staff), should be (email visible only to moderators and staff). However, the new account keeping posting that there is another account associated with (email visible only to moderators and staff), and will not let me correct the wrongly typed email. Summary-forgot password for first WP…cannot get in. Second account-new has typo, but when corrected…email already used. HELP

That’s not really a typo – Gmail ignores any periods you put into the first part of the email, so either address will send mail to the same inbox. We don’t see those as the same address, though, so we allow you to use different versions for different accounts. You should be able to reset the password for the first account if you have access to that Gmail account.
Please log out of this account and clear your browser cache and cookies. Then enter the “incorrect” email into the lost password form. That will send you a link to reset the password for that account.
