email change

  I keep getting the emails at (email visible only to moderators and staff) though when I select ‘change email’ my new email is in the text ( (email visible only to moderators and staff) ). Where else do I need to change it?? Old one expires at EOM July.

  Hi there,

  It looks like you have some email-only subscriptions for the old email, that are not in any way connected to your WordPress.com account.

  Log out of WordPress.com completely. Then go to https://subscribe.wordpress.com/. Type in the old email address there, then click the link we’ll email you to go to the subscription settings for that email address. You’ll be able to unsubscribe to those sites there.

  If you want to continue following these sites using your WordPress.com account, re-follow them while logged into your account, and then you can set up a new email subscription to the new email address.

  Entered email and it tells me user does not exist.

  Right. The email is not associated with the user account. It is just used to subscribe to some sites that use WordPress.com. Does that make sense?

  Can’t seem to get past the WordPress stuff to unsubscribe or change email for the site. It just sends me to WordPress. Oh, well – it will just have to start bouncing in a couple of days I guess.

  @jlh4598 the problem is that you’re logged into this account, so any link you click for the other account is being interpreted as incorrect and sending you back here.

  Log out of this account here:
  https://wordpress.com/me/account

  Then, log into the other email account. Click one of the subscription management links in an email you don’t want. This time, since you aren’t logged in as jlh4598, you’ll be taken to the subscription page for the correct account, where you can unfollow sites as you’d like.

  I was logged out when I got the message and the relay back – it just won’t keep the old email account in.

  Do not try logging into WordPress.com using the other email address. You don’t have a WordPress.com account at the other email, so that won’t work.

  Log out, and clear your browser cookies to make sure your browser no longer thinks you’re still logged in. Then go directly to https://subscribe.wordpress.com/, and enter the email address directly on that page. Without clicking on any log in option anywhere.

  Then, still without logging in anywhere, click the link in the email the subscribe page will send to the email address you specify.
