Email forwarding

  Hello! I’m looking at this page: https://wordpress.com/support/add-email/

  If I set up the email forwarding to my gmail account, do I need a g-suite account to do that?

  Hi Sarah,

  You don’t need G Suite if you only want email forwarding, where we just send emails received on to your existing email account. But your custom email address will only be able to receive emails, not send.

  To be able to also send emails from that address, your email provider must support email aliases, and free Gmail doesn’t support aliases.

  So in that case you’d either need to forward to a different email provided that does support aliases (I think Yahoo does, for example), or else you’d need fully hosted email, either using a paid option like G Suite, or a free option like Zoho Mail.
