Email forwarding has stopped working

  • Unknown's avatar

I set up an email address using my custom domain name ((email visible only to moderators and staff)) to forward to my gmail address ((email visible only to moderators and staff)), which has worked perfectly since I set up the blog last year. (email visible only to moderators and staff) has now stopped working: emails to this address are bounced back. I’m not sure if the issue is at the wp or gmail end.

Also: I deleted the wp address from my gmail ‘send mail as’ section yesterday, as I wanted to try adding it again to see if that worked, but I don’t know what the smtp details are.

    Thanks,

    Sarah

    Hi Sarah,

Your domain sarahhayes.net is currently set up to use Google Apps email service. That means all of your email is controlled by Google Apps (not WordPress.com), so if something is going wrong you’ll need to check with them about that.

You can get help with Google Apps from their help center here: https://support.google.com/a/#topic=29157

You can also find a guide for adding an email address to the “send mail as” section of Gmail (only available when you’re using Google Apps for email) here: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/22370?hl=en

Thanks for your response, Rachel. I only set up the google apps email service yesterday, to try and resolve the issue as quickly as possible. It seems to be working now. :)

    Hi Sarah,

Ah, thanks for clarifying that! I’m glad everything is working now with Google Apps. :) Just let me know if I can do anything else to help.
