Email from (email visible only to moderators and staff)

  I got an email from (email visible only to moderators and staff) saying that I needed to click a link to verify my email account. And it also said that “If you don’t verify your email address, we’re required to temporarily put your website on hold until verification is complete.*”

  The mail reached me immediately after I renewed my domain subscription. The email is not from wordpress but thanks me for being a wordpress customer.

  Is this a valid email?

  Thanks for checking with us first! This is a new requirement for buying a domain name, and because it is a recent implementation (a required by ICANN) we’re still working on making it look less spammy. Here’s a bit about what the email looks like:

  Register a New Domain

  Please RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL.

  All you have to do is click on the “Verify your email address” button. If you already did that, then you are good to go!
