Email header question

  I often receive emails regarding my blog posts that have the name of someone else’s blog on them.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  Where exactly do you see this? If it’s right at the top where your email lists the FROM address, it could be that that blog name somehow became associated with our donotreply address in your email contacts. So please check the Contacts list in your email account.

  If that’s not it, can you please provide more information? What would help a lot is if you can take a screen shot of the email showing exactly where this name is showing. Add that to your media library at My Site ->Media, and I’ll be able to see it there.

  Hi there! I added the screenshot to media as you suggested. It’s a bit frustrating. “Holding the Lantern” is a blog I follow. I have no idea why it shows up on emails I receive when people have commented on my Scarred Joy blog. I hope the screen shot works out.
  When I receive these emails “Holding the Lantern” is located above the “to” box of the email. I hope this helps.

  I hope this screenshot is big enough. In case this helps here is what is on emails when I receive them.
  Here is an example of an email header

  Holding the Lantern
  To: (email visible only to moderators and staff)
  Reply to: Little Moment Meditations
  New Post:

  This also happens with the actual blog of someone else called
  “Holding the Lantern.” I follow this blog as well as Little Moment Meditations. They both come with the same header Holding the Lantern.
  It’s weird to me because a recent blog post from Little Moment Meditations came without the Holding the Lantern indication.

  Hi Alan,

  That screenshot was nice and clear, thanks! It confirms @kokkieh’s suggestion that the email address has been saved in your contacts along with the blog’s name – this is causing Holding the Lantern to be displayed above the from address on new post notifications.

  Can you check the Contacts list in your email account and change/remove the name so it isn’t Holding the Lantern?

  That should do the trick.
