  Hello, is there a way to change to content of the automated email people receive when I post a new blog? At the moment it comes up with the first few lines of writing and ALL of my tags, I’d much prefer to have the first few lines of writing, a picture from the post and no tags!!
  Any help appreciated.

  I’m seeing that you’ve got the right setting set in your dashboard. You want that “For each article in a feed, show ” set to “summary”.

  Is that a recent change? Or have you had it set like that and your followers are still getting full post emails?

  Where do I make sure it is set to ‘summary’ in my dashboard settings. I can’t find it?

  I’ve never actively set it to anything actually, I just saw in the emails that it came up with all of the tags instead of a picture!

  So, my apologies if I’ve gotten anything confused here (or confused you), but here is some info that should help.

  1. If you have “For each article in a feed, show…” set to “summary”, then you will see a few sentences of your post (and yes, the tags), but no photos.

  2. If you have “For each article in a feed, show…” set to “full text”, then you will see the whole post text in the email including the images (and I believe the tags).

  3. There is no way (that I’m aware of) to have a few sentences of the post, the photos, and no tags. Though I can double check on this.

  4. As a sidenote, you are using too many tags. In order for your posts to show up in topic or tag searches, you need to use fewer than 15 tags+categories as mentioned here:

  In most cases, there’s no need to assign more than a handful of tags per post. If you use more than 15 tags and categories (total), your posts will not appear on tag pages (because you don’t want to see irrelevant content showing up there, and neither do we).
