Hi there,
We offer email login on WordPress.com. How that works is you enter your email address on the login form. We then send an email with a unique link to that email address, and you complete the login process by clicking that link. The link only works for a short time, after which it expires and you need to request a new one.
This is considered more secure than using a password, as there’s no way someone can guess the right login link, and only someone with access to your emails can click on it. So as long as you’re the only person with access to your email account, only you are able to use that link to log in.
If you received a notification that someone used this method to log into your account but you didn’t do it, immediately update the password on your email, as it means someone might have access there. Also consider enabling two-step authentication on both your email and WordPress.com accounts:
