Email notification for new posts
-
Hello,
I haven’t posted a blog for a while but when users followed my blog a few years ago I received an email advising me of this and also stating that they will receive an email every time I publish a new blog. However I’ve asked a few followers and they haven’t received any emails for the blog I posted yesterday. Is this no longer an available feature? Thanks,
MariannaThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Marianna,
A subscriber to your site will only receive email notification if they specifically signed up for that. WordPress.com subscriptions have always worked that way.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/following/
If specific followers on your site think they should be receiving emails and aren’t, please ask them to comment here, or else give us their email addresses, and we can check what’s going on.
Regarding getting an email when someone new follows your blog, that’s a setting you control at My Site ->Manage ->Settings ->Discussion.

Thank you for your response. Here is of one of my followers for whom when they followed I received an email stating that they will receive emails every time I post a new blog

That email address is subscribed to your site, yes, and our email logs show we sent them an email notification for your post,
Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind?, two days ago when you published it.Our logs also show their email server accepted the email, so if they did not receive it, it’s either been filtered, marked as spam, or there’s another problem on their email provider’s end.
