Email notification format

    My subscribers apparently are getting notifications of a new post but in the email the full article is included – that is probably reducing the number of visits to my blog. How can I change that so that the email contains just the title and maybe the beginning of the post? This was the default format years ago, I think. But I don’t see how to change it in the dashboard.

    Hi @sallybr,

    I understand you’d like to change how your emails appear when subscribers receive notifications about new posts on your blog.

    When you publish a new post, emails are automatically sent to your subscribers in a clear format with proper spacing and a mobile-responsive design. The email will include the post title, the author, and the date. You can control the following aspects of the emails’ appearance by going to Settings → Newsletter:

    • Include or exclude your post’s featured image in the email sent out to your readers.
    • Show or hide the post’s details like author name, profile photo, and date of publication.
    • Include either the full text of the post or just an excerpt with a link to the full version of the post. You can adjust how much text appears in the emails sent to subscribers.
    • Customize the sender’s “from” name—by default, this will be your site title, but you can edit how it appears in emails.
