Email notifications to followers

  What triggers an email to be sent to email followers saying that a blog has been updated?
  I keep updating the same blog as I believe when they follow me via email, it only follows that blog. So I publish new updates to my travels by adding to the top of the same blog. But they don’t appear to be getting email notifications that I’ve updated it.
  What am I doing wrong?

  Hi there,

  Email notifications are sent out only when you publish a new post. Publishing or updating pages, or updating an existing post, do not send out notifications.
