Email subscription box error

On edit mode, I can see that my blog has an email subscripton box with the text ‘enter your email address’ and a button below it with the text ‘subscribe.’ However, when I view the page in preview mode or as a visitor, only the ‘subscribe’ button appears and not the email subscription box. I have tried removing the block and replacing it with a new email subscription block, but the same problem happened again. I tried editing the box in html mode, but that also resulted in the same error. Can anyone help me find a way to make the email subscription box appear? Thanks!

The email field will not appear if you view your site while logged into WordPress.com – any logged-in WordPress.com user will automatically be subscribed using the email address connected to their WordPress.com account if they click the Subscribe button.
The email field will only be visible to logged-out visitors to your site. You can test this by viewing your site in an incognito browser window.
