email subscriptions

  Hello,
  I have just launched my website and have had some people subscribe and its all working fine. However, when they enter their email in my website, they are then told to go look for an email that was sent, in order for them to confirm it.
  Is there a way to change that option? I want to make it ‘easier’ for people, so, once they put their email in, they are subscribed, without any need to confirm anything.

  Hi there,

  This is how WordPress.com subscriptions are designed to work. We follow a strict opt-in only model for email subscriptions, in order to prevent people being subscribed to a site against their will by someone just entering their email address on a site’s subscription widget without their knowledge.

  If someone who already has a WordPress.com account sign up for email subscriptions there isn’t an additional verification required, but for email-only signups there’s no way to bypass the confirmation step requirement.
