Embedding a Google N-gram Viewer chart

    How may I display a Google N-gram Viewer chart I generate in my post?

    Hi there,

    We don’t support embedding N-gram charts on WordPress.com.

    Currently the only embed option Google offers for those is via an iframe, and iframe code is not allowed on WordPress.com for security reasons. The only exception is Business Plan sites using plugins, as those are configured differently from standard WordPress.com sites.

    I’ll add a feature request for this, but Google would need to make an oEmbed option available for those (where you embed something by just pasting in the URL, like Youtube embeds work), before it would be possible to embed those here.

    Ok, Mr Kok: As I understand it, you are going to set things in motion for WordPress to make necessary code changes to embed N-gram charts; what I don’t comprehend is:

    Would you please explain how Google would come to know of what’s desired of them in this regard?

    We added a feature request for this. All that does is tell our development team that someone would like something updated, or changed. It’s not a promise that we can deliver, and not with a known time frame.

    On our business plan, you can use plugins, and there are some advanced customization options. That’s why you can embed as requested on that hosting plan. https://wordpress.com/pricing/
