Empty Media Library

  My media library is empty even though I have uploaded images and videos. When I upload a new image it loads, but then never shows up in the library. All of the images I have added prior to today are not showing up in the media library, but are showing up on my site and I can see them in my ftp file manager.

  I deactivated all plugins and changed the theme to see if that would fix it, but none of that fixed it.

  I also reinstalled wordpress (running 5.5) and that too didn’t fix it.

  Any help in accessing my media files in the media library again would be helpful.

  That site is not hosted on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress.org software at another hosting provider. We’re only able to help with sites hosted on our servers at WordPress.com.

  Please ask the WordPress.org community for advice instead. They provide support for the version of WordPress you’re using:
