Enable automatic renewal for domain bought on different account

I bought the domain franroadtrip.com several years ago. It is listed in My Upgrades along with my other URLs but it is set on Manual Renewal and does not have the Enable Automatic Renewal button. How can I set up automatic renewal?

Normally, you should see an option to enable auto renew on all of your upgrades. I see you’re missing the option to enable auto renew on this domain, though. Sorry about that!

Thanks for getting the Auto Renew box on my franroadtrip domain. I tried to enter a new credit card and I got “Requires authorization”. In fact, I tried three different credit cards – all of them functioning fine on other charges. Please let me know what’s wrong, so I can renew this domain. -

I just checked your domain franroadtrip.com, and it was successfully renewed in August. That domain is valid through September 14, 2015, so you don’t need to worry about renewing it right now.
Regarding the “Requires authorization” message, can you please contact your credit card company about that? I don’t see any errors on our end, but it’s possible that your credit card company is blocking WordPress.com. (This can happen even if your credit card is working fine for other charges.) Please let me know if you continue to have trouble with that.

I have contacted American Express about the “Requires authorization” message, and they say there is no problem with the credit card, or with this charge. In fact, I just renewed another domain, parisianparttime.com, using the same card. It went through with no problem. American Express suggests that you call Merchant Services at American Express to work this out. They say that you have a phone number for AmEx and an established relationship, since you take AmEx. Please let me know when this gets resolved. Thanks.
