entire blog interface disappeared

  i am new to wordpress, and just created a new blog using one of the free templates. after making my first post, i tried to edit the default template by removing the posts i didn’t make, adding my social media, changing the author name etc. after i saved those changes, my whole site went blank with only the text “Empty Template: Index” at the top left. what do i do? no amount of refreshing can restore my page.

  I’m a bit late to this and it looks like you figured it out already but for future reference, it sounds like you accidentally deleted the content of your template. Anyone running into this issue can follow this guide to reset their theme templates.
