  I’m pretty new to this but I’m trying to get in contact with Eric Dando who has a private blog on WordPress.

  probably private for a reason I’m just wondering if there’s any way of knowing whether he knows that I’m trying to get in contact with him.

  Hi @finneganwoolley,

  If the private-site page has a “request access” link, you can use it after logging in to WordPress.com. Eric will be notified that you want to view the site and can approve or decline, but that isn’t a message or read receipt, so you won’t know whether he understands that you’re trying to contact him. The View a private site section explains how this works.

  If Eric hasn’t published another way to contact him, it’s best to leave the request with him and let him decide whether to respond.

  thanks very much for taking the time to reply Benito… patience is not often one of my best friends but I’ll have to sit with it over a coffee and make small talk for now.

  thanks for reassuring me about how things work. knowing a thing sure makes sitting with a thing a whole lot easier.
