Error 522

For the past couple of months almost every time I try to directly access my blog by going to http://www.ericksonandco.com I get an error saying “Error 522 Connection timed out.” At first I thought it was just me and the browser I was using. But now I know its not. I had over 10 people tell me yesterday when they tried to get on my blog they got the same error and I had one person try her phone, her tablet, her PC, and 7 different browsers! She cleared her cookies and cache between each attempt as well. I have also tried it from multiple locations (computers at other people’s houses, on different internet connections, on PC, mobile, etc) and get the same error probably 90% of the time.

    I need this fixed.

Here is what the exact error says:

    Error 522
    Connection timed out

    You: Browser working
    San Jose: CloudFlare Working
    Host: Error

The origin web server timed out. As a result, the web page can not be displayed.

If you’re the owner this website:

Contact your hosting provider letting them know your web server is not completing requests. An error 522 means that the request was able to connect to your web server, but that the request didn’t finish. This most likely caused by something on your server.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Although ericksonandco.com has been registered, it is not using WordPress.com nameservers. If you wish to host your site at WordPress.com, you will need to update your nameservers as outlined below.

    Important Notes Before Upgrading http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#important-notes-before-upgrading
    All About Domains http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/all-about-domains/

In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from and the domain name you desire must be available for purchase, or you must already own the domain URL.

You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard at > Store > My Upgrades and purchase the upgrade.

See here if you already own a domain
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades is where you do the primary blog set up knowing it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

I purchased my domain from wordpress.com. I guess I don’t understand why that matters if I’m getting an error saying my host isn’t working. When I go to ericksonandco.wordpress.com it takes me to ericksonandco.com. please explain further.
