Error establishing a database connection – issue with site
-
I have a website – ifthemusicsloudenough.com – hosted by Yahoo and run off of WordPress. At present all I get when I got to the web address is “Error establishing a database connection”
Online suggestions talk about adding a line to the wp-config.php file. However when I try to access the back end of the site I get:
“One or more database tables are unavailable. The database may need to be repaired.”When I click on the link to repair the site I get this:
To allow use of this page to automatically repair database problems, please add the following line to your wp-config.php file. Once this line is added to your config, reload this page.
define(‘WP_ALLOW_REPAIR’, true);
Which comes back to the original problem – I can’t access the back end.
I’m really not tech savvy but any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ian,
Since your site ifthemusicsloudenough.com is a self-hosted WordPress site, rather than hosted here at WordPress.com, there isn’t much the support staff here at WordPress.com can do to troubleshoot that issue for you.
You can get more help for self-hosted sites in the WordPress.org support forums here:
They should be able to help you sort out what’s going on. You may also want to contact Yahoo for additional help with that.
