Error Message when Confirming subscription
-
when users try to confirm their email address it tells them that the link may have expired or their email is not used with their word press account.
Does everyone have to have a wordpress account in order to subscribe? Why won’t it allow anyone to follow me?

Hi there,
Are these subscribers trying to subscribe via a follow blog widget on your site? Or are they people you invited as a follower?
A WordPress.com account isn’t required to follow any public site on WordPress.com, but when accepting an invitation to follow a site you will be prompted to create a WordPress.com account. There’s always a link to just continue without creating an account, though.
If someone clicks a confirmation link and it tells them the email is not used with their WordPress.com account, it means they were likely logged into a WordPress.com account already when they clicked the link, but they used a different email in the widget on your site. If they log out of WordPress.com first, or open that link in an incognito browser tab, it should work, though.
To give any more specific help with this I’d need to know the email addresses of the people having trouble following your site. Please post those each on their own line in your reply, and they’ll be hidden automatically so only staff can see them.
