Error message when I try to access my WordPress dashboard

  • Unknown's avatar

I cannot access my site at all. I cannot even see my wordpress dashboard. My page is hosted by Bluehost. Everytime that I try to get to my dashboard, I get an error page that states that there is an issue with SSL compatibility. I am not far in the process of setting up the site, but I had to set aside the project for a bit and upon return to it, this happened. Could it be related to a plugin? I cannot access the dashboard to delete plugins and start over (if that is the issue). Thank you.

  • Hi there,

We can’t help directly because we don’t host your site on our WordPress.com managed hosting. As a result, we can’t take a closer look at your site.

Instead your host (Bluehost) uses the open-source variant of the WordPress platform which functions differently than what we offer here on WordPress.com.

The SSL error message you mentioned usually points to a configuration issue with your domain. We are not able to help with that since SSL is provided by your host. The good news is that you can contact Bluehost support and they will be able to assist.
