Error transferring ownership of site

When I tried to accept ownership transfer I got an error message that said “you are already a member of this site.” The AI assistant responded “the transfer process requires the recipient to be added as an admin first, but since you’re already one, it may be causing a conflict in the flow.” And then followed by stating “Since you’re already an administrator on the site, the system is flagging you as already being a member when you try to accept the transfer. The best next step would be to have the current owner try initiating the transfer again — sometimes the process needs to be restarted fresh.” Which we have tried to do by the way. And then the AI said, “Since you’re not eligible for paid human support, I’d suggest posting in the WordPress.com Community Forums where our community experts can help troubleshoot this further.” So my question(s) are:
- Has anyone else faced this issue? If so, how did you handle it?
- Is it worth getting “paid human support” or are they going to be useless like the AI?
Honestly, I find the whole ordeal cumbersome and I don’t expect to get replies because this forum thing is not user-friendly. Also, not happy about the fact that I would have to pay to talk to a human for a glitch that seems to be on their (WordPress) end because we followed all the steps correctly.

You must wait untill a Staff member is available to see what’s going on. Also don’t flood your thread with tags, you won’t get better help, on the contrary.
