Error When Validating RSS Feed

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi there

I’m been trying to validate and verify my site’s RSS feed but I keep getting the error ‘ Not a gzipped file (Server response declares Content-Encoding: gzip; misconfigured server?)

    http://www.feedvalidator.org/docs/error/IOError.html

I contacted my web host and they say there’s no issue on their end and it’s probably a technical error on my site.

Can anyone provide some help on how do i go about resolving this as I’m not very familiar with coding.

    My site is slenderseries.com.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi there,

Your site is not hosted on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress.org software. We cannot help with this in the WordPress.com forums – on WordPress.com RSS feeds are configured automatically, so we don’t have insight into any settings you might need to change in this regard.

Are you using an RSS feed plugin on your site? If so, your best bet might be to contact the developer for that plugin directly. If you installed the plugin from the WordPress.org plugin directory, there should be a support link on the page for that plugin.

Else, please post in the self-hosted WordPress forums instead for help:
