i can’t login. first i chanced my password but it is still blocking me.
i guess i forgot my usernamr . How can i rename it ? with out login.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is an easy way if you have a self hosted version of WordPress. Basically, all you need to do is login to your cpanel, then phpmyadmin and select the database with your WordPress installation. Normally the database starts with a WP_. Then you look for the table titled users. Click on users and then look for the admin details. You will see a small edit link, click that and the admins records will show up. What you are looking for is a table called user_pass. Change the password to one you will remember. Then this part is important, click on the function box and then select MD5. The go to the bottom of the page and click “Go”. This will save your change. Go back to your admin login and use the new password. Now you can login. If you want go to your profile page and change the password to something safe and make sure you save the new password somewhere safe. I wrote about this tip on my blog WordPressclinic

@weddinginvitesau- in case it wasn’t clear, the information you’ve given is only relevant to self-hosted sites using the standalone version of WordPress. It doesn’t apply to sites hosted by WordPress.com
