Esily replace multiple occurences of an image

An image occurs in multiple places on my site. I want to edit the original image, upload it and replace the current one wherever it occurs. My first desire is to Edit the image in the Media Library and find a Replace command which would it all for me. Is there an easy solution like that?

    Hi there,

There isn’t a way to replace images in your media library with a new one like that. You’ll need to upload the new image to your media library and then replace the old image with the new one in each place it appears on your site.

However, I totally understand why you’d like to be able to replace images that way, and I’ve passed along your comments to our team so they can consider adding a feature like that in the future. :)

Thanks for the response. I suspected that that was the case.

It would be a very useful addition to the Replace command and fairly easy to implement I think. Since each image in the Media Library is identified by an ID, and since, wherever an image occurs, only the ID is used in that location (be it Page, Post, Slideshow etc.), it comes down to linking the old ID to the new ID.
