Events Calendar conflict with Widget Editor

    I have both Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro installed on a meteorite theme. I’ve discovered that the Events Calendar when activated prevents any of the widgets from being edited. The edit buttons on the list of widgets disappear within a few seconds of opening the list. If I deactivate the Events Calendar then all widgets are editable but the pro version stops working. All suggestions welcome.
    PS I’m new to wordpress so keep it simple!
