Excerpts adding “More” as a text string, not a link

    I am using the Gateway theme on WordPress.com. I am building a Posts page and am using excerpts. If my excerpt is too short, the block is automatically adding “More” plus the name of the post. The More is not a link so doesn’t actually take you to More. Does anyone know why it might do this and how I can get it to stop? An interesting point is when I try the same Excerpt block on WordPress.org (same Gateway theme), it adds […] instead of More. Still doesn’t work as a link though.
