Existing Account: Can't log into Gravatar
-
I am trying to log into Gravatar, and since this single-sign-on thing has been implemented I cannot. I have already tried resetting my wordpress.com password. I have tried different browsers.
Every time I click on any button that claims it will log me into Gravatar using my wordpress.com account, it redirects me to the same Confirmation email text. I already have a Gravatar account, which is clearly linked to wordpress.com, because the image shows on WordPress!!
Please advise how I can log into my account, I’m getting nowhere and this is getting really ridiculous.

Hi,
I’ll tag the thread for staff attention. There have been others with the same complaint in recent days. See the topic Change My Gravatar Profile Picture, for example.

Hi there,
I just emailed you in regards to your account activation.
Please let me know if you did not receive an email from me.
Thanks!

Hi Darnell,
I did receive your email, but unfortunately it just takes me to the same page that I’ve been circling around since I discovered this issue. My account is activated already. I do not need an activation link. I would take a look at the thread @musicdoc1 linked in his reply on my post. Could that same bug that @supernovia is referencing be applicable to my situation?

Hi there,
Yes – There is a glitch in our system that prevented you from receiving the activation e-mail from us. We apologize for the convenience. However, I have fixed the issue in our end, so you should be ready to go. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

@ darnelldibbles,
@ esmme2468,In the case of the issue described by clheureux475 in the topic Change My Gravatar Profile Picture, she was unable to log in to Gravatar and password resets just led to a cycle of receiving emails which led back to a page telling her that a confirmation email had been sent, without touching the Gravatar login failure issue.
The endless email and confirmation link circle described by esme2468 appears very similar if not identical to that described by clheureux. In clheureux475’s case Supernovia eventually found that
Your account wasn’t verified due to an old bug (one we had when you first registered) but I was able to correct that for you

Hey @musicdoc1
Your account wasn’t verified due to an old bug (one we had when you first registered) but I was able to correct that for you
That is correct and what I did for @esme2468. There are usually a few ways we can get the user’s account confirmed. We first send them a special activation link that should do the trick. In the few cases that it doesn’t, we can fix the bug on our end.

Hi Darnell, I am now able to log into my account. Thank you!
And musicdoc1, thank you as well! You’ve been a big help! :-)

One additional item that I noticed (and I’m not sure if it’s best for me to just create a separate additional posting for this item), is that when I click on the “My Profile” link in the upper left hand corner (between the “My Gravatars” and “Help” links), the browser window closes immediately. Is this something you can address as well?
-
Hi there,
Interesting…I just tried the same thing without issue. Have you tried a different browser to see if the window closes for that one as well? If it works well in a different browser, I’d clear the cache of the one that isn’t working well.
Let me know. Thanks!
-
Hi Darnell,
I normally use Chrome, so I tried to access My Profile via Firefox, and that did work… So I cleared my cache in Chrome and that resolved the issue.
Thanks again for all your help!

Nevermind, it started working sometime between commenting and trying to login using safari.
