EXISTING DOMAIN NAME

Just wondering how I use an already existing domain name/ address? Do I click transfer to wordpress.com or do I map domain? All help is appreciated, thank you!

Either option will work.
If you map, it means you leave it registered at the current provider and just connect it to your site on our servers.
If you transfer, it means you completely move it over to us, so in future you’ll renew the domain with us instead of your current provider.
Which one you choose is completely up to you and neither is necessarily better than the other. For example, in my opinion it would be simpler to have both domain and site at the same provider, so then you can manage everything from one place. But the annual renewal cost of the domain might be lower at your current provider than it would be with us.
Many people also just prefer to keep the two services separate to prevent one service from having too much control over their site.
