Existing wordpress blog merging into existing wordpress website

    I have a WordPress based website and, with my developer’s help, will be creating a blog within that website. However, I jumped the gun and started a blog on WordPress. Do I need to back out of that blog in order to correctly create the website blog (I want the same wordpress address)? I think what I’m asking is whether we’ll be able to merge the newly created blog (the jumped-the-gun one) with the WordPress website when the developer has time? I think i see the answer (map a subdomain), but am not sure and don’t want to create a mess for the developer!
